Hope you see the light

“People change not because they see the light

But because they feel the heat…”

Whenever I post this quote on Facebook, a lot people get confused. They don’t seem to get the message behind the words. Perhaps it’s too allegorical for one to understand.

It is my favorite quote. I always remember it everytime I did something wrong.

Change is inevitable, let’s accept. The only question there is whether you change for the better or for the worse.

Why do people change?

“People change not because they see the light

But because they feel the heat…”

People change not because they see the light. They don’t realize that what they have done was wrong. They don’t change because they now know what is right.

They change because they feel the heat. They now experience the consequences of their wrongdoings. They changed because they are now suffering.

Hope you see the light before you feel the heat 😉

      1. :)…. my thoughts say somewhat different, especially about the light… we may implement change because we can find hope or an opportunity (i.e. light) shows up unexpectedly to help solve a problem or make our lives better. heat I interpret as those that we consciously would like to get rid of or improve in our lives.

      2. for sure; negative versus positive. interpretation can find out what the positive and the negative are. can be interpreted in so many different ways. I m not surprised that when you share this quote on facebook you get different reactions to it 🙂
